Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Clinical Concentration)
He/Him
David (he/him) is a curious and compassionate psychotherapist, known for his calm and gently direct nature. He supports individuals, couples, and families in more fully connecting with self and others. David is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland, holding a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. David completed two-year training in Gestalt Therapy with the Gestalt Institute of Pittsburgh, and has additional training in working with trauma from the Gestalt Centre of UK. He is pursuing Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy postgraduate certification with Fluence. He is also continually advancing his skills through ongoing education, consultation, and his own personal work. David collaborates with clients to co-create a safe and comfortable environment where growth and healing unfold. He trusts that all people possess an inner healing wisdom, and that as people return to wholeness, they naturally discover new and meaningful choices. David’s style draws primarily from Gestalt: an experiential, relational, here-and-now-oriented, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed approach. He utilizes mindfulness, somatic/body process, role-play, enactment, dreams, parts work, and other creative experiments. He also fluidly integrates Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Psychedelic/Ketamine-Assisted Therapy, and other therapeutic frameworks, depending on client needs. David has provided psychotherapy in outpatient and intensive outpatient settings, across both the mental health and substance use domains. He has supported clients to work through and improve depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, shame, anger, relationships, obsessions/compulsions, attachment wounds, family-of-origin issues, transitional challenges, and other concerns. He has also facilitated community-based psychedelic support groups, and assisted in a variety of psychedelic art, education, harm-reduction, and advocacy projects. Beyond his interest in psychotherapy, David enjoys rock-climbing/bouldering, gloving with friends, producing short films, and embarking on video-game quests.
